The City Council of the City of Hibbing is always seeking dedicated and interested residents of Hibbing to serve on City Boards / Commissions.

Chisholm / Hibbing Airport Authority
The purpose of the Chisholm/Hibbing Airport Authority is to provide airport planning services to the Range Regional Airport.

Fire Fighter Civil Service Commission
The purpose of the Civil Service Fire Fighter Commission is for selection and promotion of Public Safety personnel under the authority of MN Statues Chapter 419 and amendments thereto.

Gambling Commission
The purpose of the Gambling Commission is to prepare and recommend changes in procedure and practice governing charitable gambling in the City, and to make recommendations with regard to possible changes in City Code provisions governing charitable gambling in the City.

Heritage Preservation Commission
The purpose of the Heritage Preservation Comission is to Safeguard the heritage of the City by preserving sites and structures which reflect elements of the City's cultural, social, economic, political, visual or architectural history;

Hibbing Economic Development Authority (HEDA)
HEDA offers development assistance for new and expansion-minded businesses interested in locating in Hibbing.

Housing and Redevelopment Authority
The Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) administers the low rent public housing program for the City of Hibbing. The HRA also acts in a redevelopment role by acquiring underutilized or blighted property and preparing them for reuse in the community

Human Rights Commission
The purpose of the Hibbing Human Rights Commission is to secure for all citizens freedom from discrimination because of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, disability, status with regard to public assistance, sexual orientation, and age.

Park & Recreation Board
The purpose of the Parks & Recreation Board is to be an advisory board to the Council on Parks & Recreation matters.

Planning and Zoning Commission
The purpose of the Planning Commission is to oversee the City Land Use Ordinance and to provide land use recommendations to the City Council. The Commission is supported and advised by a full-time City staff member.

Police Civil Service Commission
The purpose of the Police Commission is for the selection and promotion of Public Safety personnel under the authority of MN statutes Chapter 419.

Public Library Board
Hibbing Public Library is governed by a seven member Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees represents the library both to the people of Hibbing and to city officials.

Public Utilities Commission - HPUC
The purpose of the Public Utilities Commission is to develop policy and over-see management of the City of Hibbing Public Utility System.

Television Cable Commission - HPAT
The purpose of the Hibbing Television Cable Commission is to propose to the Council such rules and regulations for the cable communication system as may be required to secure adequate and proper cable television service and to provide sufficient accommodations for the public.
